Types of Aluminum Cladding Insulation

Commonly used metal cladding insulation materials are iron and aluminum, however, practice has proved that iron is easy to rust and corrosion, the use of short life, so the aluminum cladding insulation in the market is very popular. Types of aluminum cladding insulation including 1060, 3003 and 5005 aluminum cladding roll according to aluminum alloy classification. The thickness range of aluminum cladding for insulation is 0.3-1.0mm, the width is usually 1/1.2 meters.

types of aluminum cladding insulation

Aluminum cladding insulation roll is divided into three series, 1000 series pure aluminum roll, 3000 series aluminum manganese alloy, 5000 series aluminum magnesium alloy.

1000 series 1060 aluminum cladding insulation belongs to the pure aluminum series, the aluminum content of 99.6%, the material is relatively soft, with good elongation and tensile strength, can meet the conventional processing requirements (such as stamping, stretching), high formability. At the same time, its price has the obvious advantage, so its application range is naturally the most extensive, such as ordinary building waterproofing, municipal pipeline insulation and rust-proof project.

3000 series 3003 aluminum cladding roll has higher hardness, the price is also higher than 1000 series aluminum cladding roll, due to the manganese element, its anti-rust performance is better than the pure aluminum series, it also has good performance in the mechanics. Because of its good resistance to acid and alkali corrosion, it is more often for the need to rust insulation occasions, such as refrigeration equipment, storage tanks, pressure vessels and pipelines, heat sinks, etc.

5000 series 5005 aluminum cladding roll is the most expensive of the three series, and is an excellent rust-resistant aluminum because of its high strength, good plasticity and corrosion resistance, good fatigue resistance and weldability. These 5000 series alloys typically have higher strength and corrosion resistance, but are relatively expensive.

In addition to being classified by aluminum alloy, types of aluminum cladding insulation can also be classified according to use, such as:

– Pipe insulation aluminum cladding: Aluminum cladding specifically used for pipe insulation, such as power plant piping, chemical plant piping, and so on. These aluminum cladding coils usually have good insulation performance and corrosion resistance.

– Building insulation aluminum cladding coil: aluminum cladding used for building exterior walls, roofs and other parts of the insulation. In addition to thermal insulation properties, these aluminum cladding coils also need to be considered for their aesthetics and durability.

– Aluminum cladding coils for industrial equipment: Aluminum cladding for industrial equipment such as boilers and storage tanks. These aluminum cladding coils need to have high temperature resistance and mechanical strength.
